I have worked with Photostory 3 before when I created a video story for my church's Vacation Bible School family night. We had taken the pictures from the week and compiled them with the VBS music theme to show parents on family night. Photostory is a very simple program to use. It is simply drop in the pictures and the music.
Since I had experience in using the program I was not stressed over the assignment that required me to utilize Photostory to create a story. However, I stressed over what to do. I love taking pictures of nature and my family so it only seemed natural to select one or both of those topics. My vacation to Alaska seemed to be the perfect choice. I found the information in Joe Lambert's "Digital Storybook Cookbook" to be challenging to me yet a great guide. It was challenging because I have a tendency to work backwards. I start with the pictures and figure out how to build my story with the pictures I want to utilize. This time I started with what story I wanted to tell and then found pictures to support my story. The great things was I had thousands of pictures from my trip to choose from.
